Fuss About Young Politicians Share

60% of the still illiterate India lives here in the darkness, lending an ear to and falling prey to the speeches made by our very chosen politicians, false promising them the basic amenities .The person here would grow old waiting for the bulb he hung in his teens to light up and even assuring his grandkids the very soon arrival of that one fine day, when their village would be blessed with power supply …

The land where “fat promises bloom “…meant to be broken ..as the adage goes… Illiterate politicians with criminal backgrounds, qualifying enough to put them behind bars , keep winning elections time and again , and , sadly , the youth does nothing more than shamelessly becoming an accomplice in the crime by not casting votes , and if at all, then without info about future leaders ( I still wonder …you know its no mean feat ..zeroing down to someone worth the seat ..given the amazing list …)

No wonder why India shimmeringly escalates the chart of the most corrupt nation, all thanks to our politicians and administrators … The same Indians who pledge to serve “India” till the last breath...work for the progress of the land … To never to lie and deceive…. Coins worth crores already pumped into the “CLEAN YAMUNA “bandwagon for almost a decade and what you finally hear conclude form the CM is “The place can’t be cleaned up before the Commonwealth Games ….”  Huh!!

Sadly, the youth seems to follow suit. Rahul Gandhi – he’s actually got nothing to his credit inspite of coming from such a privileged background. He’s going to pauper’s homes at 40 …common! High school people are doing a much better community work and are much better exposed to realities. His single action till date doesn’t display leadership quality; nor does an independent decisiveness come into picture. Coming to Varun Gandhi, he supposedly delivered the “Anti Muslim “ speeches … We don’t want someone capable of being a loyal follower of a leader to be a nation leader...nor do we require people creating inflammatory remarks at the same position. ABVP and NSUI of DU play no different ballgames. Come elections and the contestants are seen lingering over the campuses , leaving no stone unturned in their endeavor to appease the “Just 18 janta “, playing all foul plays – to get win that extra edge over the counterpart . Absolute step following the path already treaded, they are even one step ahead of the “Guru Politicians “.. Youth, somehow, is least interested to contribute to a society that they’ll work for, That’ll work for them, that’ll work by them, that’ll even be their’s…

They are just not interested – blame it on the carefree attitude / elite reputation the Game has thankfully earned , or even not-so-outlandish response that’s more than expected when parents confront a “Growing Politician “ in their child …fearing an “almost –looked-down-upon “  response from the society. They don’t even lend a second thought if a “dada / chacha “hasn’t been fortunate enough to taste the drama. Rather the first thought dumps down the drains before even being clicked... No one wants to lead the leading Gandhis and Dutts “Family dynasty “is the order of the day! Having said that all, there’s a definite desire in the country that the nation’s leadership face needs to undergo a dramatic makeover. We seek leaders who are firstly vibrant and young, and secondly mature and knowledgeable; leading us through a style of governance unknown to India for years.

We need candidates signaling for change, candidates having vision for India, instead of people coming from dynasties of political families, candidates brimming with bubbling ideas; instead of emulating the previous plots.
Interestingly , maturing democracies are preferring young leaders taking charge of the chairs .Americans have mostly held Presidentships while they were in their 50s,,contrast to late 60s and 70s being the preferred age for Indian counterparts . If a man surpassing a certain age is considered unfit to lead the top Medical Institution of the nation, don’t you think the young should take charge of a job as critical as running a nation, given that a person’s ability to judge and respond deteriorates with age?

And to those chicken-hearted-souls, who think virtues of honesty, punctuality and corporate structure can in no way overpower the red-tapism prevalent in Indian Democracy, a treat for them all – Mr. Sreedhara successfully got the Metro Phase 1 accomplished in the time frame and with the allocated funds, listening only to all that’s required to be heard, and to the ones who genuinely need to be heard; not to all that’s said; and all this after retiring from Indian Railways!!Kudos to him! We want young Sreedhars plunging in a new scenario – politics!

Social and political changes have always come from visionary and charismatic leaders who could articulate their vision so as to mobilize multitude of people to achieve seemingly impossible goals. While it’s apparently impossible for a second Mahatma to sprout up anytime soon, we still can expect public minded people bringing impactful changes. Youth can definitely make a notable presence of a trait brazing science vision steering the nation ahead.
